Wedding bands & live music in Hungary

Wedding bands and live music in Hungary — party and lakodalmas bands, acoustic duos, string quartets for the ceremony, Gypsy and folk music — with audio, video, prices and working area. Live music is a show and an experience a playlist cannot be.

Listen to a live recording (not the studio one) and ask what they play for the menyasszonytánc, the entrance and at 3 a.m. — the breadth of the repertoire decides.

What to look for

  1. 01Line-up and volume: how many players, which instruments, what room size — a 40-guest barn does not need an eight-piece big band.
  2. 02Breaks: how long they play in one go, what fills the breaks (DJ, their own playlist), and until when they stay.
  3. 03Tech: own PA or not, a separate sound engineer, and set-up time at the venue.
  4. 04Requests: how many songs they learn on request (first dance), and what they will not play.

Common questions

Band or DJ?
A band is the experience, a DJ the flexibility. The usual compromise: band after dinner in 2–3 sets, DJ in the breaks and until dawn.
When should we book a band?
Popular wedding bands fill peak-season Saturdays 9–12 months ahead.

Plan the wedding with them, not around them

Add the vendors you like to a shared plan — your partner sees the same list, and every vendor you book gets a login to the parts they need: the run-sheet, the seating, their own tasks and files.
